e-Terra is an electronic scientific journal which aims at
timely publication of research papers in the broad field of Earth Sciences. It was established in
2001 [ISSN 1645-0388], under the Group of Technologies of Information and
Communication (GEOTIC) of the Geological Society of Portugal. Access to
the journal is free, for the project has no commercial purpose. All
contributions toward an understanding of the System Earth are welcome. Papers
in Portuguese are accepted if they include extended English abstracts and
table/figures in both languages, however the use of English as the primary
language is recommended for it reaches a broader audience. Papers
accepted for publication after peer review are published in the form of a
numbered issue as soon as the author has made all necessary revisions. Animations
and other multimedia resources can be used in the online
version of a paper; a downloadable version in PDF format is included.
A CD-ROM version of the journal is sent selected libraries and the
Portuguese National Library. The journal is hosted by the
University of Minho (Braga, Portugal).
