Objective and Editorial Policy
Rem: Revista Escola de Minas (School of Mines Magazine) is one of the first technical (mining and metallurgy) magazines in South America. It was founded in January 1936, by Ouro Preto School of Mines students and since then, has specialized in the publication of articles concerning Civil, Geological, Metallurgical, Materials and Mining Engineering.
Its objective is to provide publication opportunities for national and international researchers engaged in the abovementioned fields. Original technical-scientific contributions (articles and letters) are accepted. Revised articles depend upon invitation and/or Editor's analysis.
Rem: Revista Escola de Minas has continuously supported diverse organizations (IBRAM, the Brazilian Geochemistry Society, the Brazilian Geological Society-Minas Gerais Branch, student organizations, etc.) in divulging their papers, activities, events, etc.
The presentation of articles for publication implies that the paper has not been previously published; that it is not being presented to any other magazine for publication; and that it will not be published in the same form in any other place without written authorization from the Editors. Upon submission of the manuscript, the authors agree to transfer the article's copyright to Rem: Revista Escola de Minas, if and when the article is accepted for publication. Articles and illustrations become the property of Rem.
Section Editor / Reviewers' Function
The Section Editor solicits article evaluation by specialists in the research area of the submitted manuscripts.
The examiners will evaluate the paper for originality, coherence, and scientific value. They will also indicate if the script is clear and concise. Inadequate use of space restricts the useful volume of material to be published.
The Section Editor, who assumes complete responsibility for decisions regarding manuscripts, could eventually disregard the recommendations of the examiners. The Editor will advise the authors when a paper is rejected and no communication regarding these manuscripts will be made to other magazines.
