The Mining-Geological-Petroleum Engineering Bulletin
(Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik)

The aim of The Mining-Geological-Petroleum Engineering Bulletin (Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik) is to serve as a communication medium for all concerned with scientific and technical problems dealing with mining, geology, petroleum engineering and geotechnics.

Papers may be published in the Bulletin with or without evaluation.

Evaluated papers are classed as:

  1. Unpublished results of basic research in completed or preliminary form (original scientific papers or primary research papers, preliminary communications and conference papers)
  2. Criticism of an original or summation of some field or problem published previously, but here properly presented, analyzed and discussed (review papers)
  3. Useful information about an area of interest (Complete references not required)

Manuscript and figures must be submitted in both hard (paper) copy and on disk. Both versions should to be the same. The manuscript should not exceed 25 pages in lenght (including pictures and appendices). Microsoft Word is preferred for the text.

Send the paper copy of manuscript on A4 paper, double spaced, font type Times New Roman, 12 point for text, 10 point for figure/ tables captions and with margins 3,5 cm up - left, and 2,5 cm down - right.

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  • Title (12-point font, bold)
  • Name(s) author(s) (12-point font)
  • Company and adress(es) (11-point font, italic)
  • Key-words (10-point font)
  • Summary (10 point font)

The summary should not be longer than 200 words and should be written in English and Croatian. References should not be cited in the summary.

The main subdivisions of a paper are:

  • Introduction
  • Methods, techniques, material studied and area description
  • Results and Discussions
  • References

Headings and Subheaders

Make sure that major headings, subheaders and sub-subheaders are clearly distinguishable by using the following styles:

First Level Headings - 12 point bold on one line

Second Level Headings - 12 point italic, bold, on one line

Third Level Headings - 12 point italic, bold, period at end and continuous with the following paragraph.

References

All references to publications in the text should be presented in a list of references. The manuscripts should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of the authors' names and dates are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list. In the text refer to the author's name or to the original source and year of publication, followed - if necessary - by a short reference to appropriate pages. If reference is made in the text to publications written by more than two authors the name of the first author should be used, followed by "et al.". This indication, however, should never be used in the list of references. In the reference list names of authors and coauthors and their initials must be mentioned instead. The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by authors' names, and chronologically by date.

The following format should be used for the Reference list:

  • (a) for periodicals Jurkovic, I. and Durn, G. (1988): Deposits in the Zrin District of Trgovska Gora in Croatia. Geol. vjesnik, 41, 327-339, Zagreb.
  • (b) for procedings of conferences, symposia, etc. Durn, G., et al. (2002): Geochemical and Mineralogical Assessment of Lime Stabilized Waste from Petroleum Industry in Croatia, ASME Engineering Technology Conference on Energy, February 4-6, P. 9., Houston.
  • (c) for books Wilson, J. L. (1975): Carbonate faces in geologic history. Springer, 471 pp, Berlin.
  • (d) for multi-author books Stonesipher, S. A. (1978): Chemistry of deep-sea philipsite, clinoptilolite, and host sediments. In: Sand, L. B. and Mumpton, F. A. (editors): Natural zeolites, Pergamon, 221-234 pp., Oxford.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be printed and saved in separate file. Figures should be saved in .jpg or .gif format. The position of figure or table in the text should be designated (e.g. Position of Figure 1./Table 1.).

Number figures and tables in Arabic numerals. Avoid numbering individual figures as Fig. 11a. and Fig 11b. Instead, make them Fig. 11 and Fig. 12.

Please add the figure captions in both languages English and Croatian in a list at the end of the body of text.

Figures and photos for a paper may be in black and white or color. Be sure to send clear, hard copies of your figures and photos. Don't forget that your published paper will have two columns. If you want to keep your figures in their original size please so indicate (e.g. Position of Figure 1 in original size).

Units

The use of SI metric units is strongly recommended.

Footnotes

Footnotes should be used only if absolutely essential. In most cases it should be possible to incorporate them in the text.

These instructions are intended to aid you in preparing your manuscript to be considered for publication in The Mining-Geological-Petroleum Engineering Bulletin (Rudarsko-geološko-naftni zbornik). Failure to follow these guidelines could result in your manuscript being returned to you for revision.
