It is a great honour and privilege to invite you to the 6th World Congress on Itch, International Workshop for the Study of Itch, which will be held in Brest at September 4-6, 2011.
Previous world congresses on itch were successfully organized at Singapore in 2001, Toyama in 2003, Heidelberg in 2005, San Francisco in 2007 and Tokyo in 2009.
In the meantime, our understanding of basic and clinical aspects of itch such as neural pathways, molecular mechanisms and therapeutic modalities has rapidly progressed. I am sure that the 6th WCI will also be rich in new findings and most interesting both for basic researchers and clinicians. I hope that you will participate and make best use of the precious opportunity to discuss with world-class scientists dedicated to itch research.
WCI is the regular meeting of International Forum for the Study of Itch (IFSI), since it was founded in 2005 in an attempt to advance itch-related research and education and to promote treatment and clinical efforts to help alleviate this distressing symptom. I strongly recommend you to participate in the IFSI if you are interested in itch ( see URL: http://www.itchforum.net ).
I look forward to welcoming you in Brest in 2011. Brest is a town in the front of the Atlantic Ocean, in the marvellous Brittany, which is a country with beautiful landscapes, fantastic sea and interesting History.
With best wishes for a successful workshop,
Pr Laurent Misery
