PROCEDURE FOR STUDENTS RESIDING IN FRANCE
Registration for first-year bachelor's degree programs [licence 1]
You must fill in the university application form "Dossier vert de Demande d’Admission Préalable (dossier DAP)" [Preliminary Admission Application (DAP) file].
Once the dossier vert has been completed, it must be submitted to the university closest to your place of residence.
You must provide the proper credentials permitting you to access your intended course of study - namely, a high school diploma. For example, in France, this is typically the baccalauréat and in China it is the Gaokao (national higher education entrance examination).
You must complete the process between November 15 and January 22 of the academic year preceding your registration at the university.
Important! You may only apply to three different universities.
The institution to which you submit your application will communicate it to the institution you have marked as your first choice.
French competency test [test de connaissance du français (TCF)]
If you are from a non-French speaking country (where French is not the official language) you must take the Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF pour la DAP). This test is organized by the French Embassy of your country of residence and costs EUR 69. Please note that your application will be rejected by Université de Bretagne Occidentale if your French language skill level is below B2.
Exemptions from the TCF and DAP
You may be exempt from the TCF and DAP requirements if:
- you are a national of a country in which French is the official language;
- you are a non-French student and have taken one of the bilingual French courses included on the list drawn up by the French Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
