New year, new steering committee: the third for the PROMALG-Health team. We headed to the Milk and Egg Science and Technology Laboratory (STLO) for a guided tour on Wednesday afternoon, followed by two days of meetings with the consortium to discuss progress and initial results on protein-enriched algae cultivation processes and their environmental study, the digestibility study that has been set up, and the initial organoleptic tests carried out on raw algae.
The four PhD students involved in the project also presented their progress on protein pre-treatment and extraction, as well as representations and acceptability of algae as a protein source.
