UBOCC is a service of UBO (Université de Brest). Its mission is to preserve and distribute the biodiversity resulting from research projects conducted in UBO laboratories.

This service preserves bacteria, archaea, yeasts and molds from diverse environments such as deep and coastal marine environments (hydrothermal vents, deep marine sediments, bivalve pathogens) and agricultural and agri-food ecosystems (agri-food companies, field flora, environments contaminated by hydrocarbons or plastics)

Marine Collection

Etuve Anérobie

The Marine Collection preserves and distributes bacteria and archaea from the research work of the BEEP joint research unit (UMR 6197). The CRB host more than 1,300 biological resources. A large proportion of its microorganisms are available for collaborative work with the support laboratory or for sale for applied or fundamental research activities or teaching work.

The CRB has recently begun hosting new marine collections from LEMAR (UMR6539) and LBCM

The BRC FAN (Biological Resource Center) conserves and distributes bacteria, molds, and yeasts resulting from research led by LUBEM (UR3882 USC 1504). The CRB host more than 4,000 strains. A large proportion of these microorganisms is available for collaborative work with the LUBEM or for sale for applied or fundamental research activities, as well as for teaching work.

The BRC FAN has been ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2021. The CRB is also an IBISA-certified  and is part of the micro-organisms pillar of the national research infrastructure RARe.
