Our engineering school in life sciences
Bretagne INP – ESIAB: for more than 35 years, we have been training bioengineers with expertise in innovation, biotechnology, quality and safety, sustainability and industrial performance, enabling them to innovate and contribute to a more sustainable future.
ESIAB is a public engineering school accredited by the French Engineering Accreditation Authority (CTI) and maintains close partnerships with institutional and industrial enterprises.
Strongly focused on life sciences, our programs prepare engineering graduates to take on technical, scientific, and managerial positions in strategic sectors such as healthcare, cosmetics, biotechnology, food industry and research.
Bretagne INP–ESIAB places ecological transition at the heart of its actions and training programs, in line with Bretagne INP (a component institution within the University of Brest – UBO) of which it is an internal school.
Our training programs, developed in partnership with IFRIA Ouest, are delivered on both Brest and Quimper campuses. Admission to our engineering program is opened to students who have completed two or three years of higher education (equivalent to a Bachelor’s level entry).
The Microbiology and Health Safety specialization (Brest) prepares engineers for careers in quality management and health safety of products and services in sectors such as the food industry, healthcare, cosmetics and personal care, as well as in microbiology research.
The “Production, Innovation and Biotechnologies in the Food Industry” specialization (Quimper) trains engineers to design and develop food or biological products and processes, manage food and bioproduction systems, and implement quality, hygiene, safety and environmental policies.
Graduates may also pursue careers in marketing, product sales, and company management in the food and biotechnology sectors.
